Zachary Alling is a prolific trombone performer in the greater Austin area. Recently competing as a finalist in the American Trombone Workshop Solo Competition, Zachary is actively pursuing his trombone performance degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he studies under Dr. Nathaniel Brickens. He is a performer with the UT Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and critically acclaimed Trombone Choir. As a soloist, Zachary was recently chosen as an alternate for the prestigious International Trombone Association George Roberts Bass Trombone Competition. He was also chosen as an alternate for the 2020 Orchestral Excerpt Competition as part of the Southeast Trombone Symposium in Columbus, GA. He has traveled the world as a performer, most recently touring around Zurich, Switzerland with the University of Texas Trombone Choir.
Zachary enjoys teaching trombone and is an active private teacher in Austin ISD.
