Seth Rodriguez

Seth Rodriguez is a performer, musician, and educator in the Austin area. He recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a masters in Horn Performance.
He has studied with Professor Patrick Hughes for the last 2 years and regularly performed with the UT Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Opera, and New Music Ensemble.
During his master's degree, he has performed with the Austin Brass Collective and made the final round at several auditions, including the Mid Texas Symphony and the Air Force San Antonio Band of the West. Seth was a finalist at the International Horn Society Mid-South Collegiate Solo Competition in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and was a member of the winning quartet at the IHS Mid-South Collegiate Horn Ensemble Competition, with his colleagues Ethan Gurwitz, Stephanie Chang, and Seth Johnson.

Prior to attending UT Austin for his master's degree, he studied at Baylor University, where he received his undergraduate degree in Music Education. He regularly performed with the Baylor Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Golden Wave Marching Band. While at Baylor, Seth studied with Jeffrey Powers, Alton Adkins, and Dr. Kristy Morrell. At the end of his degree, he was the student teacher at Gatesville High School and Gatesville Middle School, where he taught 6th through 12th grade.

Currently, Seth holds a private studio of over 40 students in Round Rock ISD and Pflugerville ISD, and Austin ISD.
